Biti’s — A Step Forward

“A Step Forward” was a creative project launched by the Vietnamese shoe brand Biti’s to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Rather than focusing solely on itself, the campaign reflected on Vietnam’s 40 years of progress and future aspirations by collaborating with a diverse group of 40 young local artists from different creative fields. Each artist contributed a unique piece representing a facet of the nation’s development, with the only creative constraint being the inclusion of the iconic Biti’s shoe. The project included visual art, animations, and multimedia storytelling, and was presented through an interactive website and physical exhibition showcasing these artworks.

It is a walk across vibrant planets, through black holes of the universe and inner galaxies. By opening yourself to the world, immersing in a colorful life, and listening to its stories, you begin to see how much there is to experience and embrace.

Described as a symbolic figure embodying a deep belief that indigenous culture can evolve in parallel with the advancing rhythm of design tools, the Deity-like Creature is also Todd Huỳnh’s personal imagination of a multidimensional fusion—of life, culture, history, nature, the digital realm, cultural influx, and human emotions. Together, these layers form a vibrant, unpredictable popular landscape, which ultimately became the core inspiration behind the birth of the Deity-like Creature.
